The Nacelle Company‘s The Toys That Made Us is one of streaming’s most special shows—and now it’s getting a print edition. Nacelle has teamed with Oni Press for The Art of The Toys That Made Us, a two-volume book series further bringing the toy world to life. It’s an amazing idea, and fans can support it via a new Kickstarter campaign full of appropriately nerdy rewards.

The Art of The Toys That Made Us is a duology that goes beyond the typical art book. Each volume is roughly 250 pages long, giving readers a deep dive into the archives of the hit Netflix series. It’s not just artwork; it’s full of behind-the-scenes stories and facts. In keeping with Nacelle’s fan-first approach, they’re throwing open the doors and letting the audience into their favorite show. With the Kickstarter, the audience also has the opportunity to make the books bigger, better and even more timeless.

That’s not to say that the art isn’t smashing. The Art of The Toys That Made Us will live up to its name by providing artwork and iconography from a wide variety of classic and beloved toy brands, including Transformers, G.I. Joe, Barbie and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers—just to name a few. The books will also include Nacelle’s own range, such as Biker Mice From Mars and Roboforce. It’s an impressive collection (no pun intended).

The Kickstarter effort is so that Nacelle and Oni can make the books as detailed and comprehensive as possible. Just like every great toy line, the more resources they have, the more they can add to the finished product. Nacelle founder ad CEO Brian Volk-Weiss explained in the Kickstarter press release that The Art of The Toys That Made Us “allows us to take many of the ‘relics’, as we call them, from the cutting room floor and bring them front and center into all of our lives! We are trying to put on your shelf a meaningful compliment to what we put on your screens.” So fans that are supporting the Kickstarter are helping to ensure that these two volumes will last just as long as the brands they’re celebrating.

The rewards include signed copies of the books, as well as Toys That Made Us merch like hats, an enamel pin set and (of course!) toy stands, and really cool exclusives such as design prints giving fans a close-up look at some of Nacelle’s toy designs. The company is clearly putting a lot of thought and creativity into the project, which is what has made The Nacelle Company stand out for so long in everything from streaming series to documentaries about Broadway shows.

It’s also important to say that the book series doesn’t mean that The Toys That Made Us is going anywhere: not one but two new seasons are in the works, with premiere dates to be announced. Until then, the existing three seasons are still streaming on Netflix, and The Art of the Toys That Made Us will make a fine addition to anyone’s collection.
