Gloria Calderón Kellett returns to TV this Friday as Amazon Prime Video premieres her new series With Love. Like her hit project One Day at a Time, With Love follows a family through the ups and downs of various events and relationships—but this time, the stories are framed by different holidays.
With Love centers on the Diaz family and their circle of loved ones and associates. There are multiple stories to follow, and each one of the five episodes—all of which will be available in a binge-watch this Friday—is centered around one holiday. There’s a Christmas Eve episode, a New Year’s Eve episode, and even a Dia de los Muertos installment, to name but three.
Audiences know that Gloria can write great, engaging television that appeals to all audiences. She made a huge impression on television fans and critics with her reboot of One Day at a Time, which was so popular that it was saved by one network after its initial cancellation. While With Love is not a full series, it still covers some of the same themes and has the same life to it, so anyone looking for a feel-good story as the year winds down will be thrilled with it.
I recently spoke to Gloria about why writing family-centric stories appeals to her and what else she thinks that television viewers need to know before With Love premieres later this week. Watch our video interview below to get a hint as to what’s coming up in the series that features Benito Martinez (American Crime), Constance Marie (George Lopez), and Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters), among others in its impressive ensemble cast.
With Love premieres Friday, December 17 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Watch the series when you sign up for Amazon Prime.
