Goliath season 4: Billy Bob Thornton on saying goodbye to Billy McBride

Goliath season 4 is the end of the line for Billy McBride. The Amazon Prime Video original series dropped its final season on Friday, and it’s pulling no punches in Billy’s final fight. So what’s in store for him this season? To find out, I spoke to the man who portrays him, Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton.

The fourth season sees Billy McBride uproot himself and head to San Francisco after his closest friend Patty Solis (played by Nina Arianda) gets offered an impressive job. But it’s not such a promising journey for Billy; he finds himself right in the middle of the opioid crisis that’s currently gripping America. And while he takes on one of the biggest issues facing the country, he also has to reckon with his childhood. Facing his past demons could give him peace, or he could wind up being destroyed by foes inside and out.

Billy Bob and I spoke about what it felt like for him to take his character on this final journey and his thoughts on Billy McBride having to face his past right at the end. Plus, he told me about working with a particular guest star whose appearance will definitely excite viewers!

Watch our video interview below to hear Billy Bob’s thoughts on the end of Goliath, playing this character for longer than almost any other in his lengthy career, and one portion of season 4 that he particularly enjoyed.
