The Misery Index season 2, episode 3 preview: This Is Not A Drill

The Misery Index

The Misery Index is the most disastrously funny show on television, and the TBS game show delivers another winner with this week’s episode “This Is Not A Drill.”

After last week’s “US vs. UK Special” (which you can watch a clip from below should you have missed it), Thursday’s episode is business as usual for host Jameela Jamil and the fearless foursome known as The Tenderloins. Among the miseries are a woman who’d rather drop her baby than miss out on catching a wedding bouquet and the most random way in the world to find out your significant other is cheating on you.

But as usual, the best parts of the episode come from the Tenderloins and their running commentary on the action. In “This Is Not A Drill,” Sal and Q share their differing reactions to infidelity, and Joe offers up a pithy opinion about one of the show’s many stick figures. (Which, whoever’s designing the game cards deserves a raise, because they’re fun just to point and laugh at.)

Especially given the difficult times that we’re all facing, The Misery Index is ironically a little bit of joy in TV viewers’ lives. It’s all about finding the humor in the scary, the absurd and the outrageous, and this episode reveals some particularly jaw-dropping stories. It’s a great way to take your mind off your own worries…by thinking about someone else’s for a half-hour.

The Misery Index airs Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on TBS.
