Law & Order: SVU

Law & Order SVU EXCLUSIVE: Rollins’ vacation comes to a crime-solving halt

The detectives of NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU never stop fighting the good fight—as evidenced by the TVBrittanyF exclusive first look at tonight’s episode, entitled “Eighteen Wheels a Predator.”

Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) was enjoying some well-deserved time off until she got the call about an unconscious victim found in New York’s iconic Central Park. Rollins joins her partner Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola (Ice-T) at the scene, and Fin gives her a rundown of what’s going to be a pretty difficult crime to solve. It seems that there was quite the rainstorm that swept through the city overnight, which means any physical evidence the SVU squad was hoping to find has been destroyed.

Rollins and Fin are just starting to pontificate on that when Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) arrives on the scene. It doesn’t take Benson long to arrive at the same conclusion that her subordinates did, and she starts trying to think of other avenues that the team can take to identify the attacker. But they might catch a break, as just when it seems like a real uphill battle, the victim appears to regain consciousness.

According to NBC’s official description of “Eighteen Wheels a Predator,” this opening scene is just the tip of the iceberg. The Special Victims Unit finds out that this may not be their suspect’s first attack—taking the case to a whole other level. Do they have a serial predator on their hands? And if so, can they catch the suspect before they leave the state—or worse, before they strike again?

Check out Rollins’ arrival to the crime scene in our exclusive video below, then tune in to the full SVU episode tonight in the show’s usual 9:00 p.m. ET/PT time slot, followed by a new Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Episodes are available the next day on NBC’s streaming service Peacock.
