My Little Pony star Sofia Carson lends voice to Calm sleep story

Sofia Carson, who voiced Princess Pipp Petals in Netflix’s My Little Pony: A New Generation, is bringing the character to the Calm app to help My Little Pony fans get a good night’s sleep. The Calm-exclusive sleep story My Little Pony: Princess for a Day is now available on the app.

Singer and actress Carson is well-known for her family-friendly roles, including portraying Evie in Disney’s hugely popular Descendants franchise. Last fall she brought her vocal talents to My Little Pony: A New Generation, the movie follow-up to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that was the most-viewed film on Netflix in October 2021. Now she’s bringing her character of Princess Pipp back to help kids be well-rested as Daylight Savings Time can potentially disrupt families’ sleep schedules.

“I’m immensely happy to bring the voice of my beloved Princess Pipp to Calm, so that together we may journey into a restful night’s sleep filled with sweet dreams,” Carson said in announcing the venture. “The Sleep Story will transport us to an enchanting world of magic and adventure with My Little Pony at bedtime.”

The plot of the sleep story follows Princess Pipp as she explores the sights of Equestria, as well as the history of the mountaintop city known as Zephyr Heights, which was featured in the Netflix film. It can be located in the Kids’ section of the app as Calm continues its commitment to helping kids and their families be healthier and happier. The Calm Kids vertical is dedicated specifically to mental wellness content for both younger listeners and their parents.

Sleep Stories, which are audio tales that are designed to help the audience come down from the day and ease into a good night’s sleep, are available in over 190 countries in both the Calm Kids section and the main Calm app. The release of My Little Pony: Princess for a Day comes as March is also World Sleep Awareness Month, so it’s the perfect time for families to focus on making sure their loved ones are getting the sleep they need—with some help from an adorable My Little Pony character.
