When Chicago PD returns tomorrow night, it will do so with an impressive stunt sequence featuring Tracy Spiridakos’ character Hailey Upton—and Wolf Entertainment is giving One Chicago fans an inside look at how the scene came together.
Wednesday’s episode “Still Water” puts Upton center stage again when she witnesses a terrible car wreck. After she risks her own life to save the passengers, it’s clear that what happened was no accident, leading Intelligence to launch a manhunt for the person who caused it. Watch the video below to find out why Tracy refers to this as “one of my personal favorite episodes.”
The video also features commentary from several crew members: Chicago PD co-executive producer Chad Saxton (who directed this week’s episode), the show’s stunt coordinator Tom Lowell, and Tracy’s stunt double Kelli Scarangello—giving fans an opportunity to meet some of the folks who make the show a success but aren’t usually featured.
“Still Water” has potentially the most ambitious stunt ever seen on Chicago PD, which is saying something for a series that’s run for nine seasons and features some form of action every single week. It’s remarkable that the show and the people who make it are continuing to up their game, especially when this episode was filmed in January, which is one of the coldest months in Chicago. Hard work like this is why the One Chicago franchise continues to be a massive hit for Wolf Entertainment and NBC.
SPOILER ALERT: This video reveals some details about the opening sequence of Wednesday’s upcoming episode of Chicago PD.
Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
