For Pride 2021, Playbill is going big. Glimmer of Light: A Playbill Concert Benefitting Born This Way Foundation, Presented By Cadillac is the company’s first ever live concert event, in partnership with Cadillac and The Neon Coven. Tickets to the June 17 concert at Queens’ Radial Park at Halletts Point are available now here, but if you’re not in New York, the event will also stream online starting June 24 on both Playbill.com and the company’s YouTube channel.
A milestone event should have an impressive lineup, and this one certainly does; it features a wide variety of artists, including appearances by Tony Award nominee Ariana deBose (the West Side Story film), Alex Newell (Once On This Island), activist and drag artist Marti Allen-Cummings, and Max Crumm (Grease), just to name a few of the people who will be appearing alongside members of The Neon Coven. The full lineup is listed on the concert poster at the bottom of this article.
Most awesome of all, though, is that a full 100 percent of ticket sales from the event will go to Born This Way Foundation, the organization founded by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta in 2012 that supports the mental health and wellness of young people and “works with them to create a kinder and braver world.” It’s a great cause, and it’s great to see that Glimmer of Light is giving so much back.
Fans attending in person will get a full experience that also includes pre-show activities, unique photo opportunities, food trucks, and a pop-up store specifically for Playbill Pride. It’s a fantastic night out with some wonderful performers for a more than worthy cause. And if you can’t be in New York and have to wait for the live stream, consider donating to or volunteering with the Born This Way Foundation instead; you can get more information on how to do either here.
The executive producers of Glimmer of Light are Bryan Campione and Leonard Rodino; Carla Troconis is managing producer for The Neon Coven. Shira Milikowsky directs from writing by Mark Mauriello with choreography and music by Andrew Barret Cox. Alfredo Macias serves as stage manager. Purchase your tickets now by using the links at either the top or bottom of this article!
