America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel has made millions of people laugh, and now he’s looking to share the laughter. Mandel is hosting the AGT Comedy Showcase in Hollywood, hoping to see more comedians on the NBC competition’s stage—and maybe even walking away with the win.

The AGT Comedy Showcase is a one-night-only event, in which comics can sign up to audition from anywhere in the country via the website. If selected, they’ll bring their set to Los Angeles to perform at the iconic Laugh Factory on a bill hosted by Mandel himself. But that’s not all; the standout comics might earn a spot on the upcoming America’s Got Talent Season 21. That’s Mandel’s ultimate goal: to get more comedians onto the show, so that one of them can make AGT history.

“Comedy has meant everything to me. It has been my voice, my career, and the greatest way I know to connect with people,” said Howie Mandel to TVBrittanyF.com. “There’s nothing better than being able to make people laugh, and America’s Got Talent has given comedians an incredible platform to do just that. I’d absolutely love to finally see a comedian take home the win, and this showcase at the Laugh Factory is about finding that next breakout star. I’m hoping the next AGT winner walks onto that stage and blows us all away.”

While America’s Got Talent has featured a number of comedians, none of them has ever won the NBC show. Preacher Lawson made it to the finals of AGT Season 12 and the top five in all-star season America’s Got Talent: The Champions. Ventriloquist Terry Fator was the winner of AGT Season 2, but the art of stand-up comedy hasn’t fully broken through—yet. Mandel has come up with a really wonderful way to change that. It’s very cool that he isn’t just making an observation about the show, but actively doing something to make the show better.

But the AGT Comedy Showcase isn’t just for aspiring comics. Fans of the show and fans of comedy can also purchase tickets to be in the audience for this unique event. Ticket prices start at just $25, and viewers get the opportunity to see up and coming comedians before they potentially make a splash on America’s Got Talent. It’s also a great way to just spend an evening, laughing with your loved ones at one of the best-known comedy venues in the country. With the AGT Comedy Showcase, Howie Mandel is bringing comedy to a bigger audience and helping to give another national spotlight to the art of comedy.
